The Meditation of Loss & Letting Go
The practice is being able to expand into the seat of faith while wholly feeling my heart’s intense sorrow. Not running from the pain and grief in my usual ineffective and often unkind ways, but instead hearing my Spirit insist: Be still.
This is one of the most challenging meditation practices—the meditation of loss and letting go.
Inhaling deeply, past and through those stuttering places where you think breath cannot penetrate because you feel as though you will choke on or vomit every sorrow. Breathing in anyway, faithfully urging the breath through and into your entire being, seeking affirmation from your Soul’s knowing: There is no death.
Allowing your human heart to shatter into a million fragile pieces, all while the soft palms of your Soul cup each broken little part of you, whispering, All is well. All is eternal. All is One.
Your innocent human tears mix with the nectar of your divine SoulSelf to transfigure your illusory pieces, readying you to become a fearless, open vessel.
If you dare to love with truth, the love of your Soul may now stream through you into the world—into each moment, into all you do, and into everyone you meet—with unabashed devotion to your lost loves and the One Love.
Your exhale becomes a sacred lightning rod, sharing this potent elixir with all you encounter, in service of truth and with compassion for your own precious human heart and every earthbound heart you encounter or think of, great and small.
Every heart, in true vulnerability and honesty, admits a fierce, undying longing—a yearning that so often reaches to be filled by the return of lost loved ones and treasured attachments.
And yes! That prayed-for and desperately wished-for embrace. To at last gaze upon their physical form once again with our bloodshot, swollen eyes. To hear that one-of-a-kind, special vibration of their very own divine laughter and voice. And the long, warm hug—the unhurried, real kind, when you know you are hugging their Soul, not just their body.
That.
That would bring such relief and comfort.
The yearning would grow quiet again, for a while… until yet another loved one’s story comes to an end on this earth plane. And another, and another, and another.
For absolutely every life story is God creating.
God’s divine breath and voice, ever inhaling and exhaling unique and cherished love poems…
That is me.
That is you.
That is We.
Thereupon, it is only God we long for, and That which can fill and fulfill us.
For inside the Divine Mind is every single Soul, beyond time and form—whether in body or bodiless, of earth or other realms—knowingly or unknowingly dancing to the music of eternal bliss, including You and Me in this very moment.
Attain this not as an earned place in heaven through death or dissolution or good deeds, but through deep Soulful knowing and Self-realization:
There is no death.
Divine Love can ne’er be lost.
Let us gather there. 🙏🏽
